Spideog - Robin

Inspired by walks in parks & nature reserves with my family. I am passionate about Irish language, history, folklore & the stories behind the wildlife we encounter. 🐦✍️

This little family favourite is very territorial and usually you will only see one in your garden at a time. Said to have got its red breast from a drop of blood that fell on its breast while it had been singing to ease Jesus' suffering on the cross. The Spideog (Robin) is said to be a loved one visiting to say hello.🤗

This is also part of the Dublin Canvas junction box artworks in conjunction with the local councils. I had the pleasure of painting it in Sallynoggin.
